High Definition Laser Scanning
Laser scanning has the ability to collect precise measurements and intricate detail. Standard error between any two points collected in a laser scan is generally less than 1/4 inch. The video below depicts data collected from a project in Seneca Falls, NY. The focus of the project was a deteriorating historic building, in which the design engineers required information on the plumbness and deformation of certain exterior walls. The data collected from laser scans [point clouds] can be viewed in section for analysis, modeled, or can be used to generate line work.
