Bridge Maintenance Phase II Project, P.I.N. 3755.17
This is an element specific bridge work project. The purpose is to clean and paint the steel bridge superstructures to extend the life of the steel bridge components, while also extending each bridge’s life cycle.
Work will be undertaken on the locations listed in the table below in Onondaga County. The bridges were constructed or rehabilitated between 1972 and 1994, and present no major structural or functional problems. Each bridge is a steel multi-girder structure with a concrete deck and wearing surface. Each of the roads is classified as a Rural-Local or an Urban-Local Road.
Typical work will include blast cleaning the steel to remove all existing paint and debris, then applying new paint to the cleaned steel.
No Property Acquisitions will be needed for the project.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during construction to the extent safely maintainable with regards to the work planned at each location.
Maintenance of Traffic
During construction temporary lane closures following the NYSDOT MUTCD and WZTC Standard Sheets will be utilized to detour traffic.
Anticipated funding sources: 80% Federal, 15% State, and 5% Local

Design Approval: Tentative July 2017
Construction Start: Tentative May 2019
Construction Complete: Tentative December 2019
