Superload Move

PDG recently assisted Edwards Moving and Rigging by providing bridge analysis services and on-site bridge monitoring for three bridges in Hornell, New York, during their use of a Superload Transport Vehicle with a total weight of 230 tons and a length of 160 ft. As a point of reference, a typical bridge design vehicle has an average total weight of 32 tons and a length of 28 ft.

The Superload was transporting a wind farm electrical transformer with an individual payload of 109 tons. PDG worked directly with Steuben County Department of Public Works and NYSDOT Bridge Safety Assurance to ensure that their facilities were protected while utilized by the Superload vehicle.
