Civil/Site Engineering

Originally constructed in 1966, School 94 has become one of the most heavily used buildings in the Buffalo Public School District. To meet the district’s long term strategic planning goals and support the expanded, year-round use of School 94, significant upgrades and improvements were necessary. The plan included installation of a new building air conditioning system and reconstruction of the aging recreational courtyard.

As pa subconsultant, PDG provided civil engineering services to support the project that included:

  • Demolition of the existing 11,000 square foot concrete courtyard, including removal of existing playground structures and deteriorated synthetic play surfacing

  • Removal of an underground fuel storage tank

  • Design of new concrete courtyard pavement in accordance with ADA requirements for grading and accessible entrances, exits, and surface transitions

  • Design of new poured-in-place synthetic play surfacing in accordance with current safety and ADA requirements

  • Re-installation of playground equipment

  • Drainage and landscape improvements
