2008 AGC Award

This project includes the reconstruction of NY Route 17 and Route 15 Interchange and conversion of NY Route 17/Route 15 intersection into I-86 along with extensive improvements to network of village streets and utility improvements, including 13 bridges. As the Prime Consultant on the project, PDG was responsible for construction inspection/supervision services.

This was a large, complex project with highway work, phased construction, and multiple bridges on interstate and local roadway in an Urban Area (Corning) with heavy traffic volumes.  The 13 bridges constructed are similar in size and complexity to those on Teall and Beech Street.  The project also included several signalized intersections to provide access to portions of the Corning metro area and significant utility work.   A large portion of the project involved nighttime construction and there was extensive Work Zone Traffic Control (WZTC) for the interstate and local roadways. The inspection team required expertise in WZTC (interstate and local roadways), earthwork, paving (asphalt and concrete) and concrete structures.
