Urban League of Rochester Salute to Black Scholars
The Urban League of Rochester Salute to Black Scholars Ceremony celebrates the academic achievement of high school students of African descent in the Greater Rochester Area. The ceremony recognizes and encourages students to continue to prosper academically, so they can be inducted in the Urban League of Rochester’s Black Scholars Honor Society. This distinction provides honorees with helpful programming and scholarship opportunities in their senior year through the Urban League of Rochester scholarship networks.
PDG is proud to sponsor, Jaelin Vernon, one of the honorees inducted into the Black Scholars. Jaelin is a recent graduate from the School of the Arts in the Rochester City School District. He will be attending the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) this fall, pursuing a New Media Design BFA degree.
The virtual ceremony will be held this evening, July 7, 2021, at 6PM. It will be broadcast on the Urban League’s Facebook Page: https://www.facebook.com/ulrochester/
PDG recognizes the current social and economic issues that Black, Latino, and other minority and under privileged groups face, and we support change in helping create opportunities for individuals in these groups to achieve success personally and professionally.
