The existing culvert, consisting of twin corrugated metal pipe arches and carrying Exchange Street over Tributary Cayuga Creek, is planned to be replaced through the Bridge NY Program, administered by Erie County. The new structure will be a four-sided precast concrete box with an approximate span length of 16’-0” and a rise of 7’-0” to meet current hydraulic and regulatory standards. Concrete headwalls and wingwalls will retain the adjacent roadway embankment at the inlet and outlet. Concrete cut-off walls and medium stone filling will protect the structure and stream channel against scour. The stream channel will be re-established with medium stone filling and native streambed material, creating a uniform channel slope within the project limits.
