Members from the PDG Team attended the APWA Western Branch’s Annual Awards Banquet on February 15th. PDG, Niagara County, and Edbauer Construction were the recipients of the 2023 Award of Merit in the less than $5M category for the Preventative Maintenance of Two Bridges project. This award recognizes the partnership between Niagara County and the rest of the project team.
This Locally Administered Federal Aid (LAFA) project involved in-depth assessments and repairs for two bridges. Jacques Road over 18 Mile Creek Bridge is a two-span steel multi-girder on concrete abutments. Work included substructure Class D repairs, steel girder end repairs, new bearings at the pier, and painting of the girder ends. West Somerset Road over Fish Creek is a single-span reinforced concrete slab bridge. Work included demolition and repairs to the existing headwalls, new bridge railings, and roadway paving.
